About Me
My name is Karl Zemlin.
I'm a part time professional photographer and a retired mechanical engineer.
With 30+ years of product design experience and a dozen patents, designing better solutions is just what I do. When I wasn't satisfied with the accessories Nikon provided with my big lens I decided to come up with something better.
It quickly became clear that other photographers liked my stuff, so I adapted the concepts to make them work on other lenses.
All Zemlin Photo products are made to order. 3D printing is the ideal manufacturing solution for a product like this offering rapid turn around and availability of a wide range of products that would not be practical with more traditional manufacturing methods.
I have been 3D printing since early 2016. With 30+ years engineering industrial machinery, my 3D printers have been modified extensively which allows me to produce very high quality parts using top quality material. I take great pride in the quality of the parts I produce.
If you don't see what you're looking for, ASK! Many of the hood variants I have came from customer requests. I can accommodate most special requests. Some special orders will incur a modest engineering charge.
Orders generally ship within 3-7 business days from receipt of order. If I am away for whatever reason, I will post a notice on the home page that order processing will be delayed.
Zemlin Photo is a one man operation. Karl Zemlin does all the design, production, assembly, testing, packaging, shipping, accounting, and everything else involved in the operation.
